Current work , paintings and prints, uses imagery suggested by Lee Miller’s photographs of torn netting in war zones. The torn curtains and shredded fabrics visible through filthy widows in houses still empty after last year’s floods in Cumbria are redolent of abandonment, sadness and unpleasantness.
The three ” Tree Guards”monoprints hint at struggle between victim and perpetrator. Which one has lost? Is it the tree which is dying or the metal rails which are now contorted and bent?
