The inspiration for this piece came from a very early piece of fossilised rock on which there are clear footsteps made by  two people many thousands of years ago, caught in a moment walking along the wet mud of some ancient shore.

The piece represents the last footsteps on this earth made in the last days of a world we have not cared for and when most animal  life has gone.

The work is a long installation in the south aisle of the Cathedral, made of thousands of  bone china pieces which look like grasses but with small heads that are in fact figures. These represent the inner part of us all. As you look down you can make out the footsteps.
